A federal judge in Delaware decided Tuesday to deny Hunter Biden’s request to delay the start of his criminal trial on weapons charges.

Lawyers for the younger Biden requested that the start of the trial be pushed back to September, claiming they had had trouble finding expert witnesses to testify.

Rejection of the request means that the trial will start in June as planned. Biden is facing charges in connection with a form he filled out in October 2018 to purchase a firearm, in which he allegedly lied about his drug use.

He has pleaded not guilty and maintains that although he was struggling with an addiction to crack cocaine at the time in 2018, he did not break the law.

The trial starts on June 3.
