Two teens arrested, charged with home invasion – 41NBC News

Dispatch stated that the caller saw two people trying to break into a home through a window, and they also tried to get into a nearby vehicle.

CORDELE, Ga. (41NBC/WMGT) – Two 15-year-olds are in custody, accused of attempting to burglarize a car and then burglarize a home Tuesday.

This is reported by the Cordele policeOfficers responded to the 500 block of N. 2nd St. in reference to a burglary in progress around 4:30 a.m.

Dispatch stated that the caller saw two people trying to break into a home through a window, and they also tried to get into a nearby vehicle.

When they arrived on scene, officers said they discovered an open window and an air conditioner on the floor. Officers then entered the home and found the youths hiding in a closet. They say the youths were in possession of large screwdrivers and a multi-tool.

The resident was not in the home at the time.

Both juveniles are charged with burglary in the 1st degree and possession of tools to commit a crime. The Department of Juvenile Justice was notified and both youths were taken to a juvenile detention facility in Savannah.
