Janet S. Huber – Sanilac County News


JANET S. HUBER, 83, of Marlette, passed away on May 4, 2024 at Marlette Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Janet was born on November 23, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Donald and Roberta (St. Germain) Harris. She grew up with her brother Robert. She was a graduate of Southeastern High School. She married Leonard Huber Jr. on July 8, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Marlette Michigan in 1972. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1995. Janet was a homemaker and sometimes worked in medical offices. She loved being on the family farms, where she enjoyed bird watching, visiting her flower gardens and was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her family. She loved being a grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her children, Kim Byrnes, Ken Huber, Keith (Carla) Huber, Karen (Greg) Goodrich, Kevin (Stephanie) Huber; and her bonus children, Chris (Tim) Regan and Billy (Renee) Myers; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert C. (Eva) Harris; uncle, Norman Harris; sister-in-law, Irene Huber; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends; her fur babies, Pepper and Angel. A special thank you to her niece, Mary Ann (Richard) Szpunar, who cared for her with so much love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard James; and her parents.

The family received visitors from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette. There was a rosary service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Funeral services were at 11:30 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Marsh Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in St. Elizabeth, Marlette Cemetery.
