According to a recent report, Lincoln is the seventh safest city in California

SACRAMENTO – A recent report from Safewise found the city of Lincoln is one of the safest places to stay in the state. According to the report, Lincoln ranks seventh among the safest cities in California.

Safewise analyzes crime statistics and population data from the FBI and reports that Lincoln has a remarkably low rate of less than 1.7 violent crimes per 1,000 residents. This figure is approximately 4% lower than the national average.

Sergeant Jesse McCauley attributes the low crime rate to the city’s demographics, noting that the community is primarily made up of families and retirees. McCauley also notes that the city’s tight-knit Neighborhood Watch program has played a critical role in increasing law enforcement’s responsiveness.

“They are the eyes and ears on every corner of this city. It allows us to help citizens much more quickly and focus our attention on those specific crimes so we can address them accordingly,” said Sgt. McCauley said.

The majority of the safest cities are in southern California. Lincoln ranks as the safest city in Northern California. However, Rocklin ranks ninth among the safest cities, with Elk Grove not far behind.

According to Vice Mayor Holly Andreatta, public safety remains a top priority for the city. However, the city faces a significant challenge as South Placer County is one of the fastest growing regions in the state.

“More roofs require more police officers, more fire, more efforts. And we’re just going to continue to find solutions to do that,” Andreatta said.
