Sussex Gardeners’ bouquets help children in need honor their mothers

Sussex Gardeners continued the tradition of providing young children in a homeless shelter with a way to honor their mothers on Mother’s Day.

Led by co-chairs Joan Boraski and Abbe Barbato, the Youth and Garden Therapy committees combined their talents to create 30 fresh flower bouquets so that each mother could receive a gift from her children.

Nine Sussex Gardeners met on May 10 to prepare the spring bouquets. The fresh flowers were bought by Sussex Gardeners and the greenery came from members’ gardens. The final products were delivered to Lighthouse for Broken Wings.
